Microporosity evolution and destruction in the Jurassic Arab D reservoir, Qatar

چکیده
Abstract Core samples were collected from three wells, one onshore and two offshore, Qatar’s Upper Jurassic Arab D reservoir. The subjected to multiproxy petrographic chemical analyses identify their micro- nanoporosity types understand evolution destruction. Based on the petrophysical properties of studied rocks, succession was divided into seven rock types. Primary microporosity includes intergranular interplanar, while secondary include vuggy, intercrystalline, moldic, dissolution, pyrite displacement, microfracture, microbial boring. micropores found mainly between micrite grains in lime mudstone facies, or plates clay minerals. Secondary result open closed diagenetic systems. system led development dissolution moldic micropores, created displacement boring porosity. Mechanical stress due crystal growth generated microfractures. Micropores destroyed either by cementation, minerals growth, dolomitization, pustular overgrowth. Microporosity important quantity varied nature mud-supported rocks. They are similar macropores grain-supported sediments but less importance. complex lithology rocks has significantly influenced destruction porosity Formation.
